The WCSO is currently accepting applications. The current starting salary for Detention Officers is $17.81 per hour with a great benefit package that includes TCRS Retirement, health insurance (with vision and dental), paid vacation and paid sick leave. To apply for a position, you may pick up an application in person at our office, or download at the link below. You may turn in your completed application at the Sheriff's Office. Please make sure the application is complete with copies of any supporting documents required. All applications are kept on file for a period of six months.

Applicants must be 18 or older for civilian positions and at least 21 years old for sworn positions. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, pass a thorough background check and complete a medical and psychological evaluation. Any applicant having prior military experience must have been honorably discharged.
