The CRASH Team was created by Sheriff Ed Graybeal in January 2006 due to the volume of automobile crashes and complaints of speeding vehicles in the county.

CRASH is an acronym for Collision Reconstruction And Safe Highways.

The CRASH Team along with Patrol personnel investigates collisions which includes injury related crashes and fatalities.

There is a total 8 officers and support personnel assigned to the CRASH Team:

Rick Hawkins		Jeff Phillips

All of which received a minimum of 280 hours of Crash Investigation Courses and all are certified crash reconstructionists.
